Joycee is the man whos in the know with the vr6s, but i would reccomend having the whole car mate and take all the bits you need of it as and when, i did a converton and its so much easier because people alway forget the silly little bits and you will then have the car just to take them off, thats if you have the room that is....

take the lot! you need all listed plus the front cross member is different iirc, the loom to chnage is the engine loom, ie where that plugs into the back of the fuse box, you also need to swap over the gearbox shifter as the VR is 02A

also take the brakes off the VR as they will be 280mm or 288 depending on the age (post 95 N is 288)

if you have the full car you also have a supply of spares, stip off things like sensors, relays etc etc, plus like Danny says you can then swap everything over! you will forget something

yes i decided to go with getting the whole car, i might be able to use the brakes but as it was crashed on the side it damaged the driveshaft so hopefully the brakes are ok. if not will the gti ones be ok for the time being?

and seeing as i will have the key and ecu i shouldnt need to get it decoded to work, so theoretically it should all be plug and play and the room i have isnt the best i have got to take everything off the vr label it all up then scrap the shell before i can do the swap. anyone know of a good place to rent a engine crane from or anyone got one they could lend me?
